Put your beat tape or instrumental project behind a printed card. A fan scans the QR code, enters their first name and email, and streams or downloads the tape on a page that is not listed publicly.

How a beat tape card works

You design the front of the card with your cover art, add your tracks, and order a pack of Legacy Slappcards, which are printed cards with a QR code. The QR code on each card opens your tape on a page with a player and downloads. QR access works with any phone camera and needs no app.

A fan enters a first name and an email, then streams the tape and downloads the tracks. An unticked box asks whether they want news from you, so each fan chooses.

What you see as the producer

  • Plays, downloads and scans show up on your artist dashboard.
  • Every unlock lands in your fan list, whether or not the fan ticked the news box.
  • You can export the fans who ticked the news box as a spreadsheet. Fans who did not tick it stay in your dashboard list but are left out of the export.
  • Plays are counted but not tied to a fan's email, so you see what is working without seeing who played what.
  • Weekly or monthly analytics PDFs can land in your inbox if you turn them on.

Slappcard does not take payment from fans, so sell the cards the way you sell merch, or give them away. A card does not put your tape on Spotify or any other streaming service. Design your beat tape card

Before you order

  • Have your cover art and your tracks ready. The designer takes both.
  • Only upload music you own or have permission to use. The terms cover this.
  • For a card count we do not list, or a bigger run, use the free consultation and we will quote it.

Our team will email you a proof to look over before we print. Cards are not returnable. Once we have started printing or design work, the order is final, and we replace or refund a pack only if the whole pack is defective. Read the terms. How an order works lists every step.
